Recall Training Course

Is your dog's recall like this?

OR

More like this?!

Having a reliable recall is top of the charts for most dog owners.

 Poor Recall Can:
  • Endanger you and your dog.
  • Pose a risk to members of the public.
  • Cause you stress and anxiety on every off-lead walk.
  • Reduce your dog's freedom and choice.
  • Not live up to the life you imagined with your dog.
  • Feel really personal; it can create a sense of disappointment, leaving you feeling you "aren't enough" for your dog.

Myth Busting

  • "My puppy/dog will grow out of poor recall". No, it won't. It will likely get far worse. Your dog needs timely help from you.
  • "It's better to wait until my puppy is older". Nope, the sooner you start, the better.
  • "I need to be the most exciting thing in the park".  No, you need a solid history of reinforcement and distraction training.
  • "It's okay, they come back most of the time".  Your dog's safety and the safety of others is your responsibility ALL of the time.
  • "My dog is just being stubborn, disobedient or dominant off-lead. They know they ought to come back".  Your dog is an entirely different species and your dog's behaviour is partly a product of the information you provide it. Not wanting to return can be due to many things, being stubborn or/and disobedient has no part to play in it.

A shaky recall foundation will often deteriorate to the point where your dog remains on the lead all of the time.
Great recall requires consistent active training on a daily basis.
Recall training is some of the most fun you and your dog can have together!
