It’s a structured four-week course designed to teach you and your dog how to walk together on lead with focus, rhythm, and connection – without constant pulling or tension.
This course is for any dog who hasn’t yet mastered lead walking.
No – this course is open to everyone. You don’t need to have attended any of my previous classes to join. If you’re new to my training, you’re very welcome.
You’ll learn rhythm changes, pressure-release walking, engagement games, reinforcement zones, and other techniques that make on-lead walks smoother, calmer, and more cooperative.
It runs for four weeks, with one in-person session each week.
Please bring your dog on a well-fitted harness or flat collar and a standard lead (no extendables). High-value treats and a treat pouch are essential.
You can continue practising loose lead skills via structured training like Beyond Beginners.
Beyond Beginners encourages more independent working than a beginners course. Each dog and handler team has their own station and a station file, equipped for the exercises they are working on that week. Teams may be working on different skills at the same time. You’ll be coached through each exercise and given individual guidance as needed.
The sessions are 50 minutes long. dog's have a short attention span and classes require a lot of mental processing. Your dog will tire quite quickly.
Yes, you need to bring a mat/bed/something for your dog to settle on (a cheap bathmat will be enough), water and a water bowl, a chew toy and training treats. Details of what to bring are in the online materials.
This course runs in rotation and may not be open for group booking immediately. If it’s not currently running, you’re welcome to register your interest using the button below. If you’d prefer to get started sooner, or need more tailored support, you can contact me to enquire about a one-to-one session.
