This course is designed for dogs aged 6 months and older who are new to training or need to brush up on their skills. It’s ideal for adolescent dogs going through the “teenage phase” and newly adopted adult dogs who haven’t had structured training before.
The course focuses on practical life skills like loose lead walking, recall, greetings and play. It’s a structured course using reward-based methods.
Yes, you need to bring a mat/bed/something for your dog to settle on (a cheap bathmat will be enough), water and a water bowl, a chew toy and training treats. Details of what to bring are in the online materials.
Bookings are taken in blocks of six consecutive sessions (i.e 6 weeks). After an initial 6 week booking you have the option to continue you and your dog's training journey.
If you're unsure you can always arrange a consultation or call before you commit to a class. A well-run class should offer your dog an opportunity to gain confidence in a controlled environment.
Your dog will never be rushed in my class.
The venue is large so you will have plenty of space around you.
Full length screens are available to assist this process.
I manage how your dog enters and departs the building.
Your dog's welfare must always take priority, and occasionally, despite all efforts, a group environment may just be too much for your dog. If this is the case you have the option to pay the difference towards 1-2-1 lessons.
The group class runs on rotation. You can use the button below to register your interest in the next group class, or to enquire about one-to-one training, which may be available sooner than a group option.
You have access to the online content for six months. All the printable content is available for you to download/print and keep for as long as you would like.
The sessions are 50 minutes long. dog's have a short attention span and classes require a lot of mental processing. Your dog will tire quite quickly.
As per the Training Terms and Conditions; children are welcome to attend certain group classes with appropriate adult supervision.
The children, and the safety of children, remain the sole responsibility of the supervising adult at all times.
If the children are disruptive to the class, the supervising adult will be asked to remove them from the class.
If you have particularly young children who will struggle to remain seated for any length of time, a 1-2-1 session might be a better option.
Classes are limited to four dogs per class. Therefore, each dog requires it's own separate booking.
In order to ensure the welfare of each dog during the entirety of the class, each dog requires it's own handler.
You can make two separate bookings for your dogs if you have a trusted friend/relative/partner (over 18 years of age) to act as a handler for the second dog.
The current venue for the class is a very large, modern venue. It is well-heated. Depending on your breed of dog, you may wish to put a coat on your dog for toilet trips. You do not need one for the venue itself.
Yes, absolutely. You receive the same online content and will have the same access to the online community.
The structure of the course will largely remain the same but tailored to your individual dog. It's the level of individual attention that is different. The 1-2-1 instruction will take place at your own home if you live in Shipley or the surrounding areas.
Yes, if you live outside Shipley, or the immediate surrounding areas, please contact me prior to booking.
